You know it's time for the snow to go away when your three old notices the sun and says over and over again "look mommy, it's the sun, it's the sun!". Seriously, next year at this time, my plan is to head to Mexico or Hawaii, or maybe even Aruba, shoot, I'd settle for Seattle!
I'm trying hard to make Alaska an adventure, I really am. And 10 months out of the year, I think I've been successful, but January and February have really tested my adventurous spirit. Quite honestly, I think everything should just shut down in January. I mean, who wants to leave their house? It's cold and dark, and everywhere you, people are just kind of grumpy.
Thankfully we are now more than half way through February and looking forward to the Ice Festival, which, in my mind, signifies that the breakup is about to begin. Soon we'll have more sunlight than we could have ever wanted, and my kids will get to play outside for hours. Riding bikes, playing soccer and baseball, building treeforts and jumping on the trampoline. We already have plans to purchase a second trampoline, it seems we always have 10 kids in our yard, so 1 is just not enough. Those things are the greatest thing ever invented and worth every penny.
I'm getting sleepy, need to go lay down. I will try posting again tomorrow, I will try and stick with it this time. Goodnight
